Hi all!
I am so sorry for those
of you who are snow covered! (News reports 40% of lower 49
states.) And so many are COLD!
As little TV as I watch,
I am a big PBS fan. A recent NOVA was on the science of
COLD. I'd never thought about it. To
think that someone had to invent the thermometer just to measure it! So many aspects to consider.

 I
can barely imagine the type of person who seriously asks "what is
COLD?" and then laboriously searches for the answer and ways to
demonstrate it so others understand. It was in the 1600s, not that long ago,
in the course of human history, that someone finally started to figure
out and define the exact nature of cold (& heat), that we now take for granted. Then they had to figure
out how to actually make stuff (gas) even colder to make other gas
cold, to be able to make "really cold". This gave us
refrigeration and really, the world as we know it now. Very
cool, I mean "cold"! LOL Anyway, enough on
my ramblings about the weather . . .

The Joy of Life - This
9-part sampler quilt finishes approx. 60 inches square. It can be stitched using either the needle-turn or blanket stitch appliqué techniques. This beautiful quilt was designed by Rosalie
Quinlan as she was undergoing treatment for breast cancer. It is a reflection of her journey and the joy that she has found in everyday life.
MONTHLY KIT price will include pattern & fabric for top.
This class meets 1st Thursdays at 10 a.m. & 7 p.m. First
class will meet Feb. 3.

Wing & A Prayer
Designs newest pattern is RHAPSODY and will be offered with two different settings.
We'll be cutting kits in their new TIMELESS TREASURES fabric line of
the same name, WILDFLOWER RHAPSODY.
 We'll also be cutting
monthly kits from TIMELESS TONGA BATIKS & HAND-DYED fabrics.
Classes will also be available.

SECOND SATURDAY starts
Jan 8th, 9:00 a.m. - 12 sampler blocks. $5 each month, or FREE
in the shop if you show us the previous month's block made from our
kit by 9 a.m. on the next 2nd Sat.

I've made all these blocks at least once and they are pretty easy, yet interesting.
The class enrollment includes the cost of the book, and will be
discounted if you previously purchased this book from us.
Monthly mailings will be $7.50 including postage. Whole quilt
kits can also be ordered in their entirety, if you want to work faster
than just "a block a month".
Civil War Chronicles -
Sampler quilt finished approx. 108 inches square, 12 MONTHLY KITS will
include pattern & fabric for top. The class will meet on the
2nd Thursday at 1:30 and the 2nd Saturday at 10:30. Classes
start January 9th & 14th.
