December 30, 2010
Hi all!
Mary recently made a
wonderful, small TIME
QUILT.
She used Marti Michell's
EVENING STAR pattern and wonderful AN
APPOINTED TIME fabrics from J. Wecker Frisch.
We have just a couple of
kits left. Click here for details:
http://www.sewnatural.net/nli.asp?iid=25933
Is TIME on your
side? We never know, do we.
I like to think I'm
pretty good at living in the moment, mostly. Although there is
never enough time (or money) to really do everything one wishes at any
given time, so setting priorities is important, and keeping everything
in perspective.
Housework fell off my
list so long ago, I'm no longer even concerned! And jeans and
t-shirts are a pretty good wardrobe, most of the time!
LOL
Luckily I like my job
and it giv es
me plenty of excuses for sewing and playing with fabric!
I've been having lots of fun
playing with 4 PATCH stacks. I'm making samples for 2011 SECOND SATURDAY
quilts, and
hope you'll have as much fun as I'm having when you sign up for our monthly
block kits.
This year we're offering 3 different colorways. Each colorway has several options offered to create
unique BLOCK CENTERS.
To create the 4-patch units, you
need 4 repeats of the fabric. We've split a 3 yard length of a FABULOUS PRINT,
down the center, so it measures approx. 22" x 108". This will
give you at least 4 repeats of the pattern, which when carefully stacked, allows you
to cut 4 identical squares, producing a fun, simple kaleidoscope effect when sewn
together.
Susan
& Ruth are working on samples from 2 of the FABULOUS PRINTS! Here they
are getting the 4 layers stacked in perfect alignment.
We'll use these 4-patch units for the centers of
the sampler blocks and the setting squares.
You get to choose the finished
project, selecting from queen-size quilt to table runners.
Lots of options, all skillfully
laid out in the book KALEIDOSCOPE SYMPHONY, which will be our text for the
year. See below for more details on attending or receiving monthly in the
mail.
Speaking of TIME and
lack of it, we will be CLOSING EARLY tomorrow, Friday, New Year's Eve, at
3 pm at the Mall store and 3 pm
downtown. We will re-open Monday at 9:30 downtown and 10 a.m. at
the Mall.
Here in both stores we are
still doing a bit of "year end" clean up.
That means BARGAINS FOR
YOU at Charlotte's Sew Natural, downtown, where you'll find
BARGAIN BATIK bolt
ends.
Buy the whole piece and
save 40%.
We've already measured
and marked these for you, so just stop in and pick them up, while
supplies last.
We have also MARKED DOWN
lots of KITS!
Many of these are the
LAST ONE. Some will be on the web (click the following link
after Christmas), and some aren't, so I hope you'll stop in if you're
in the neighborhood!

Many bolts have
been MARKED DOWN and moved to the Mall store, so plan on checking
these out soon.
VALENTINE'S
DAY is now less than 1-1/2 months away. We have a great
selection of fabrics, patterns & projects working their way into
the store. Keep track of them in our newest LOVE &
VALENTINES department.

To celebrate Lily's
GRADUATION from Washburn University, Randy, Lily & I made a QUICK
Christmas trip to New York City!
We were there for the
Blizzard of 2010!
We were very lucky with
our travels and had a great time!
I know that lots of you
have been inconvenienced to the extreme, but I hope that normal is
returning to the East, that the West can begin to dry out and that
everyone can get back to sewing!
Happy New Year!
Looking forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,
Charlotte Wolfe
