Staying warm? Now that's a different matter! But looking at the "bright side" of the COLD, it seems to have inspired many of you to sew & finish quilts! We need all the WARMTH we can get! LOL One Thursday evening (the store is open until 8 pm), during Christmas break, Lily & Judy got inspired by projects in the new book, SIMPLE STYLE, Easy Weekend Quilts. All the NEW fabrics arriving has forced a "relocation plan". LOL First we've been moving the BATIKS. Yes, there are lots of NEW BATIKS to explore from Hoffman, Timeless Treasures, Moda & more. If you've been in the store recently, you know they've slowly been "migrating" down the ramp. So we decided to really give them a new home. Come visit them in their new "neighborhood". (Still downtown.) :)
Part of the "relocation" involved many great fabrics, mostly "singles", that have been left behind by the rest of their families. Now they've "hit the highway" and moved south, temporarily. Ruth (who works full time here in the store) is going to take the day-trip with you and be the "hostess with the mostess". This year it will happen on March 27, which is the last Saturday in March. The Bus will leave the store here in Newton at approx. 8 a.m., travel north to Salina, then east to Manhattan, south to Emporia and then back to Newton by about 6 that same evening. It is planned to be a really fun day. $65 covers all transportation, breakfast, lunch & snacks.
