Hi all!
I like Bunnies best, but
I hope you had a HAPPY
GROUND HOG'S DAY!
When I was growing up in
Wisconsin, my parents (my mom is "Bunny") always had a GROUND HOG'S DAY party. Then
they moved to Florida, and I don't think they even track him anymore! LOL
Thank goodness Phil
didn't see his shadow yesterday! Whether we believe in Phil's
powers or not, after this week, I am sure, most of us are longing for
Spring!
Today, THURSDAY, Feb. 3rd
is the first meeting of
The Joy of Life -
Written as a 9-part sampler, it can be stitched using either the needle-turn or blanket stitch appliqué techniques.
MONTHLY KIT price will include pattern & fabric for top.
You can order this without the class.
In class, Mary will teach a
variety of appliqué methods, hand and machine, which meets 1st Thursdays at 10 a.m. & 7 p.m.
First
class will meet Feb. 3.

our 2nd annual REPRODUCTION CIVIL WAR ERA quilt, using brand new Marcus Fabrics.
Civil War Chronicles - The class will meet on the
2nd Thursday at 1:30 and the 2nd Saturday at 10:30. Classes
start February 10th & February 12th.

The Civil War Chronicles BOM quilt features twelve blocks that tell the stories of twelve women who encountered their own struggles on the
home front while their husbands were away.
Each pattern includes historical background and biographies about the generals' wives.
The block patterns include many new features over last year's pattern series,
including finished sizes for individual units within the blocks, color
diagrams, and more quick-trick piecing techniques. As usual,
Mary will add her own tips & tricks.
If you'd like some
encouragement and help, consider joining any of our classes or clubs.
Sewing Club - on-going. Meets 9:30 a.m. 2nd Thursdays. Join anytime.
$36/year. Visit for just $5/month. Next meeting will be Thursday
February 10th. We've come up with several good options, but Mary's
topic is still in development. :)
CONGRATULATIONS to our
very own Sarah Gardner, a high-school senior who has worked at
Charlotte's for a couple of years! Sarah has been GRAND CHAMPION
of our 4H universe for years. Last week she went to Reno,
Nevada, showed her stuff and was awarded 6th Runner Up in the NATIONAL
MAKE-IT-WITH-WOOL competition! We are very proud of and happy
for her! Way to go Sarah!
SECOND SATURDAY is next week, Feb. 12.
