May 16, 2012

 Hi all!

We've all been keeping very busy around here.  Some sewing, some gardening, and some cooking! :)

I had 3 of the most beautiful RIPE BANANAS you ever saw, and since I'm trying to eat healthier, I googled "light banana bread".  Some interesting stuff came up!  I really liked one and adapted it to create my own DARK CHOCOLATE MARBLED BANANA BREAD.  Click here for my recipe. :)

It looks so fun on my HULA GIRL PLATES, that I was inspired to make some new placemats & runner for the table.  I'll let you know when those get done.

Meanwhile, I must really have been in a "tropical" mood, as I also impulsively purchased 2 palm trees for my front yard this week (& took them back.)  LOL

Eating "healthy" can be a challenge.  But, you don't HAVE TO eat these scrumptious berries - just sew up an apron, a runner, hey, even a hot pad would do.  :)

I have been working on BELLA VERONA, among other UFOs.  I have the 9 pcs that compose the quilt center.  Since I'll be gone for a few days, we decided to hang them "as is" in the store.  Maybe one can better tell how this quilt is really just repeating FOURS, and then assembling around the center block.  It only looks complicated?!

We are looking forward to seeing the NEW WING & A PRAYER block-a-month pattern and TIMELESS TREASURES fabrics at Quilt Market.  I "hear" it is done in BATIK & HAND-DYED fabrics.  :)

Still running around trying to make this afternoon's departure time.  Kansas City QUILT MARKET here we come!  Yea!  Fun, but lots of work too.  Mary, Breckyn & Lily are all coming along to help!

Be sure to check out all the NEWEST FABRICS that have just been posted on the WEB here:

Hope to see you soon.
Have a wonderful week-end and I'll have a big report next week!

Sincerely,

Charlotte Wolfe
