August 12, 2011
Hi all!
I have to say, I got a
lot of sewing done this week! Consequently, I haven't left a lot
of time for my weekly newsletter, which I'm trying very hard not to
turn into a bi-weekly or monthly. LOL (Both the kitchen
& my sewing room are a real mess too!)
A
quick reminder, tomorrow is SECOND SATURDAY! We'll start at 9
a.m. sharp, and we'll have show & share (come see all the great
new models & fabrics!) It is FREE and no registration
necessary.
Of course, if you've
been coming for a while, you'll want to bring your finished block to
get your next kit for FREE!
We're on block 8 of 9
different block patterns found in KALEIDOSCOPE
SYMPHONY. You can see the book here.
http://www.sewnatural.net/nli.asp?iid=25183
We still have a couple
of complete kits featuring LUNA NOTTE fabric by Moda's 3
Sisters. Notice above how the center of the blocks are made with
simple 4-patch kaleidoscopes.

Speaking of
PRE-CUT KITS, Marietta has
joined Georgeann in making sure there are plenty of opportunities for
you to contribute it you like to the
QUILTS
FOR FOSTER CHILDREN
Marietta has cut lots of 5-fabric kits
from DONATED FABRIC that are just ready to be stitched
together.
We're looking for VOLUNTEER QUILTERS
too, as there are now many quilt tops ready to be quilted. If
you or your SMALL GROUP like to quilt or TIE QUILTS, please call the
MALL STORE at 316-804-4660 to arrange to get some quilt
tops.
If you'd like to make a monetary
donation to go towards BATTING OR QUILTING of these QUILTS FOR
FOSTER CHILDREN, please contact me. We are making real progress
but could use a little more help.
Another way to do it would be to place
an order on my web site for 3 to 10 yards any BARGAIN FABRIC.
Specify in the notes that you do not want it shipped to you (we'll
eliminate the shipping charges before charging your credit card), but
you would like to donate it to QUILTS FOR FOSTER CHILDREN, and we'll
make sure they have the fabric they need to back these quilts.
Again,
we are having a work day this
SATURDAY, AUGUST 13 at the Mall store starting at about
10:30.
There are pre-cut kits of donated
fabric ready to be stitched, or picked up, taken home and stitched.
Bring a lunch and we'll
sit and sew this year's
contributions to the program. We will have some "quilt as
you sew" ideas, and again will be looking for quilting volunteers after
we get some tops pieced. We need to finish these quilts! :)
Thank you Georgeann
& Marietta for
getting this ball rolling and keeping it rolling!
