Hi all!
Last week my husband
said, "It's alright to be without a holiday!" He was
reacting to a recent trip to the grocery store where he'd found
an entire aisle devoted to St Patrick's Day! My daughter asked
sarcastically, "what happened to the Valentines?" My
"retailer" persona cried out "What, a Holiday-less
period?!", while my head was nodding in complete agreement that
this barrage of holidays was getting a little "old"!
But, we Quilters are a
different breed. We don't think that holidays are dull or
over-rated! We think of them as a great excuse for another
project! Hearts are some of our favorites, and we don't even
need a special day to make projects with hearts, hang quilts with
hearts or add table runners or pillows with hearts to our decor.
So, if you too are a heart-lover, let me point out some of our
favorite "heart" items! :)

http://www.sewnatural.net/nl.asp?s=heart
Clover's
new HEART YO-YO MAKER is quite unique. Make yo-yos just for the
fun of it, to use up scraps or to feel busy while
"waiting". Use the yo-yos to edge projects, like Quilt
Country's newest runner pattern,
http://www.sewnatural.net/nli.asp?iid=14667
or glued to greeting
cards, or stitched together on a pillow, or added to t-shirts.
The ideas are endless!
http://www.sewnatural.net/nli.asp?iid=12954
If you've never made a
yo-yo, the premise is quite simple. For a "classic"
yo-yo, you cut a circle, turn under the edge slightly, run a gathering
stitch around the outside, pull it together and you have a little
yo-yo. Clover has introduced the greatest tools for making
perfect yo-yos in all shapes & sizes! The HEART SHAPE YO-YO
makers, like all the shapes, are 2 piece plastic sets that fit
together, with stitching slots and holes, lined up to give you perfect
stitches, while practically turning the edges under for you! Try
it, you'll like it! Kids really love making yo-yos!

BE
LOVING is the latest (2nd) of the BE ATTITUDES block-a-month kits for
the quilt of the same name designed by Nancy Halvorsen. We're

And
we like RABBITS all times of the year too! This month Mary is
starting another BLOCK-A-MONTH called RABBITS PREFER CHOCOLATE

molds! How cute is that!

ordering on-line or come to the store & pick up the kits.
You can also attend a monthly meeting in the store if you wish, to get
tips, inspiration and encouragement from other in this social &
sharing group! The patterns are full-size and the fabrics are
hand-picked for each block by Mary! Choose your own borders
later or select the option to add the borders & binding and we'll
send those now.

Congratulations, and
thank you for reading all the way to the end of the rather long
newsletter! I'm sorry it's been awhile since I last wrote.
Lily was home for a nice long visit and that kept me extra
busy. Randy & I gave her a sewing machine for
Christmas. She loves her new "Project Runway" special edition
from Brother. I have to say, I'm very impressed! She's
been sewing CELL-PHONE holders, and made a really cute FRENCHY BAG for
her friend's birthday!
http://www.sewnatural.net/nli.asp?iid=12334
Lily even made me a Yo-Yo pillow for
Christmas using many of the yo-yos she constantly stitching.
She's back at school now and her entire class (130+ young women!) leaves for Italy in just
about 7 weeks! She and a couple of friends are then going to
Ireland for a second week. In an "Irish mood", we
watched some fun Irish movies while she was home, including
ONCE. I highly recommend this movie (available on DVD) and now
have to buy the sound-track as I can't stop singing those songs! :)
Lots of new fabric
continues to arrive, keeping Darla busy at the computer & Vicki
looking for shelf space! Trenna
is trying get the web store caught up, while the list just keeps
getting longer! Mary is gathering, cutting & working the credit card machine
getting all the web orders processed as quick as she can! I've
got some "ladder work" ahead of me, as I try to arrange the
new models on the walls & find a place for the new patterns.
Rozanne just brought in a new HEART RUNNER & Cleo arrived with
both her PENGUIN & FLAMINGO quilts! I think Trenna is adding
all these to the web store, so be sure to check WHAT'S
NEW!
http://www.sewnatural.net/nl.asp?c=58&p=17
And we'd love to see you
too! So, I hope you can stop in soon to see all we've got on
hand to inspire you!
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Charlotte Wolfe
