I've just added lots of NEW PATTERNS for both WEARABLES and QUILTS and new NOTIONS to the web site that you must hear about!
Three of us, Judy, Susan and myself, spent 3 days at the International Quilt
Market in Kansas City. We found lots of things that we liked, some of which we carried home and can share with you at once! New fabric takes a while longer, but we will keep you informed.
Do your rulers ever slip?
My FAVORITE new notion is INVISIGRIP from Omnigrid.
This clear, non-slip, really thin material is applied to the under side of rulers, preventing them from slipping when rotary cutting, yet still allows you to slide the ruler along the fabric when you need to. It sticks without adhesive - really great! Only $5.99 for 12" x 36" and I covered a 12" square ruler, a 6" x 24", a 6" x 12", a 6.5" square and still had small pieces left over to use with the Perfect Patchwork templates from Marti Michell!
INVISIGRIP really works great when trimming
THANGLES. Printed paper used for piecing half square triangles can be especially slippery under a ruler. We carry all sizes of
THANGLES.
Check out Marti Michell's newest DRESDEN PLATE TEMPLATES. Two sets,
full size
and mini, include a wide variety of block sizes. These laser cut acrylic templates are designed for rotary cutting, they include seam allowances and really improve accuracy in cutting and piecing. As a bonus, hand
appliqué instructions are included with both template sets.
Enough on the notions, check out these new patterns for WEARABLES & QUILTS:

Rag Merchant - Turnabout Jacket
One jacket can be worn two ways. It's completely reversible. One side is patchwork; one side is color blocked. Pattern includes multi-size tissue paper pattern,
step-by-step illustrated directions and a unique "Road Map for Piecing" that eliminates all guesswork regarding what
fabric goes where.
Rag
Merchant - Fran's Jacket
Not exactly new, this has been one of Charlotte's favorite "basic shape" patterns. But Rag Merchant has re-done the front cover in new, bright and cheerful fabrics. It is still the basic, easy-to-sew, comfortable jacket styled in two different lengths. Choose lots of compatible cotton fabrics in prints and plaids for this NO-PLANNING PATCHWORK technique.
Here is a cute new little bag from
Kimie's Quilts - String Pieced Pouch
These small zippered bags are easy to make. 7" x 9" oval bottom of the pouch rises 7" to zip open. Get started now on Christmas gifts and use up those scraps!
Front Porch Quilts - Don't Eat the Daisies
Fresh and fun! Misty has used traditional appliqué and piecing in addition to our favorite FUZZY STRIPS (aka - chenille strips) to create the daisy shapes. Pattern includes instructions for two size quilts or wall hangings plus a table runner.
The Quilt Yard - Fold & Finish Collections - Northwoods Retreat
This is an interesting technique for "quilt as you go". The seam allowances are cut extra large. Batting is sandwiched between the back and front and the seam allowances are folded & stitched by machine to cover the raw edges. This is really a fun technique. Easy to finish!
Pine Needles - Beary & Bright
McKenna Ryan's latest design features 3 black bears decorating a tree with ribbon and lights - very sweet!
And finally, if you need easy, these two patterns are for you.
Duck Soup - Earth to Heaven features 4-patch & Half-Square-Triangles.
Duck Soup - Candy Stripes has easy 4-patch set in long narrow rows.
Very old fashioned. The pattern includes instructions for standard pillowcase as well as a quilt label ready to attach to your finished quilt with your personal message.
We will be assembling kits for lots of these patterns. Be sure to ask if you are interested in them before they appear here on the web site.
