December 13, 2013

Hi all!

No pressure, but I work well with deadlines and maybe you do too!

Christmas is fast approaching, and I am forced to admit that maybe I need to consider gifts for some that are a bit less time-intensive. :)

Check out our array of possible gifts, perfect for quilters and non-quilters alike!

  • JIGSAW PUZZLES - with quilt & craft themes, but great images for anyone who loves assembling puzzles!

  • ONLINE ORGANIZER NOTEBOOK - with pages ready for noting all those passwords.  How can we really be expected to remember them all with all the other things we do with our brains, like planning new quilts and tracking UFOs!? (Not flying!  The low-lying kind! LOL)

  • PAPER PLATES & NAPKINS - great quilt images and no need to wash - any quilter will appreciate!

  • PRIMITIVE SIGNS - these include words of wisdom to engage any quilter and/or their supporters!

  • POCKET CALENDARS - perfect for the kitchen counter or to tuck in your tote.  I still do best with a paper back-up to my electronic version!

  • GIFT CERTIFICATES! - in any amount!  And your family would love this tip as well. :)

  • MINI-CHARM PACKS - sort of like "candy" for a fabri-holic, little stacks of 2-1/2" squares, 40+ of a complete MODA line.  Watch for a new book coming in early 2014 with a dozen patterns using pairs of these little cuties!

  • DESIGNER GINGHER SCISSORS - limited edition, with fancy handles!  Assorted sizes available.

For those gifts that really need to be "home-made", why not give a fun, easy to make, TIDY TRAVEL PILLOW CASE?!

Choose the fabric to suit their interests.  Lots of styles available or tell us which fabric you'd like to start with and we'll design one just for you.  Need your pillowcases full size?!  Just let us know.

A SOFT FURRY pillow cover is a good "cuddle" for anyone!

And hot, hot, hot on PINTEREST,  HOT PAD FOR A BOWL!

Mary made this for her husband's morning oatmeal bowl which always comes out of the microwave too hot to handle!

Here is an easy-to-follow tutorial on ELEANOR BURN'S web site, complete with pictures.

Fans of WIZARD OF OZ - here is THE MAGIC OF OZ, designed by Graphic 45 for Wilmington Fabrics.

These fabrics are based on the the designs in the original book series by L. Frank Baum.

I love this style.  There's a great quilt design too.  Check out all the fabrics & quilt kit here:

As always, you can quickly check out all the NEWEST ADDITIONS on line, and if you plan on being in the store soon, or live locally,  place an order and tell us you'll PICK IT UP in the store to SAVE on shipping!  We'll try to have it ready and waiting.  Just depends on how quickly you get here after you push the button!  LOL

One of the advantages to owning or working in a quilt shop is having the knowledge of what fabrics are available when you're planning a project.  And what are BASICS, i.e., can usually be counted on as re-orderable.

We carry lots of SOLID COLOR FABRICS.

All colors, but particularly whites & off-whites are very difficult to see on a computer screen.

If you live close to the shop, you can run in any time to choose just the right "white" or "off-white".

Since many of you don't live in our small town, I've put together a packet of my favorite WHITES & OFF-WHITES, that I rely on as basics.

This bundle contain 10 pieces that are:

  • 1/2 yard cuts (not too much, not too little)
  • 100% cotton
  • solid color (no printing)
  • various shades of white, off-white, ivory & cream
  • re-orderable (if we are out, it is temporary)
  • labeled so you can start a project and buy more of the same to finish
  • either Moda or Robert Kaufman
  • specially priced for a limited time - 25% OFF!

PRE-CUTS make it easy to sew a coordinated SCRAP QUILT!

Start with just 2 packs of CHARMS (82 pre-cut 5" squares) and a constant fabric for a strong modern winter quilt.  We've included the pattern, background, border & binding fabrics in our kit.

BLITZEN QUILT KIT is at downtown store.  But when they're gone, they're gone!
