Hi all!

For many it is BACK TO SCHOOL week!  We're rolling out our new FALL CLASS LIST too.  There are limited spaces in each, so sign up soon!  

If you don't live close enough to attend our classes, there may be PATTERNS & FABRIC KITS AVAILABLE.  Click the images below for links.

All of our classes are perfect for confident beginners and those who have progressed beyond this early stage, unless stated otherwise.

The very first class will be taught by Gwen, who also works at Newton High School, as a sign language interpreter.  

Saturday August 25th, 10 to noon, $15 includes class kit.

Learn the basic techniques and receive help selecting the right project for you.  Many sizes of hexagon paper pieces are available.  This class is great for beginners.  Stitching hexagons will be the perfect, relaxing "pass-time" for the Labor Day weekend!  Taught by Gwen.


Other ONE DAY CLASSES include:

Friday September 7th, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., $15 for 2 plus materials.

2 people make 2 similar, large throw-size Trip Around The World quilts.  More fabrics will make a larger quilt.  Some pre-class homework is suggested.  Taught by Charlotte.


Friday September 21st, 10 a.m. - noon, $18 includes class kit.

Hands-on introduction to Lone Star Quiltsmart interfacing.  You will make a sample.  Once you understand the technique, there are several size stars to choose from for your perfect project:  wall to king-size bed quilt!  Taught by Charlotte.


Monday September 24, 1:30 - 3:30 OR

Saturday September 29, 10 a.m. - noon, $22 includes class kit.

Learn basics of raw edge, fusible appliqué.   Bring zig-zag sewing machine.  Mary will teach this "hands-on" class.


Thursday September 27, 10 - noon OR

Saturday September 29, 1:30 - 3:30, $22 includes class kit.

Learn the basics of turning under those small edges by hand with your needle & thread.  Valuable tips will be given & helpful products will been shown.  Mary will teach this "hands-on" class.


Wednesday October 3rd, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.  Bring a snack.  $20 (includes triangle paper), plus materials.

Scrap squares: 3-1/2" + 5" + background fabric makes this darling scrap quilt!  Have fun sewing & sorting together with other collectors!  Great technique for triangles!  Lead by Charlotte.


Monday October 15th 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. (bring a snack) OR

Saturday Oct. 20, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. (bring a snack)  $22 includes pattern & basic fabrics.  Additional supplies required.

Hands-on class requires sewing machine.  Make a book (or e-book) cover while learning the basics of paper piecing. Level suggested:  intermediate sewing machine skills & beyond.  Taught by Mary.


Friday October 26th, 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  $48 includes materials.

Multiple demonstrations & hands-on opportunities making small items.  Perfect for HOLIDAY decorating & GIFT giving.  Taught by Charlotte & Staff.


Friday November 2nd, 10 a.m. - 3 .m.  Bring a snack.  $15 plus materials.

Appliqué star blocks with 3-D "glow".  Learn to merge batiks with traditional prints.  Taught by Charlotte

And we also have multi-session classes that are a bit more in depth, working through an entire quilt, start to finish.  These classes are 45 minutes to 1 hour long unless noted otherwise.

2nd Saturdays at 1:30 p.m., starts Saturday Sept. 8th OR

2nd Thursdays at 6:30 p.m., starts Thursday Sept. 13th, $36 plus materials.

Meets monthly for 6 meetings thru Feb. 2013.  Lecture/Demo.  Make this large quilt, starting with a printed stripe fabric from Marcus.  KITS available as shown or you may select fabrics other than those shown to make this quilt.  Lots of neat, time-saving techniques will be used in this quilt.  Taught by Charlotte.



3rd Thursdays at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. OR 6:30 p.m.  Starts September 15.  $48 plus materials.

12 monthly meetings thru Aug. 2013.  Lecture/Demo.  12 Sampler blocks using Marti's Perfect Patchwork Template Sets A & C, to make a Queen-size quilt.  Instructions on how to finish the quilt also included.  KITS available in the TAUPE fabrics as shown, or let us help you select your own color-way.  It is always fun to see what fabrics others are using when you come to class.  Taught by Mary.


4th Saturdays at 1:30 p.m., starts Saturday Sept. 22nd OR

4th Thursdays at 6:30 p.m., starts Thursday Sept. 27th.  $36 plus materials.

6 monthly meetings thru March 2013.  Lecture/Demo.  Learn a variety of techniques making sampler blocks and appliqué in the borders.  This quilt finishes Queen-size.  Kits available as shown in solid cotton fabrics, or you may select your own fabrics.  Taught by Ruth.


4th Wednesdays, 11:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.  Starts Sept. 26th, plus Oct. 24th, & Nov. 28th.  $36 plus materials.

3 monthly meetings.  Sewing machine required months 2 & 3.  This class is good for anyone who wants to learn to make a quilt, who is confident on a sewing machine.  Hands-on involving cutting & sewing in class.  Learn BASIC QUILT PIECING techniques while making easy, MODERN, throw-size quilts.  Choose your own fabrics.  Lower priced SOLID color cottons suggested.  Taught by Charlotte.

And checkout our on-going, monthly classes, that anyone is welcome to join at any time.


Sewing Club - 2nd Thursdays

2nd Thursdays, 10 a.m.  $36 for 12 months, start any time.

Meet other interesting women who sew.  Learn about new products & techniques in the sewing & quilting world.  Stay up-to-date!  Sometimes projects are tackled as a group!  Approx. 90 minutes.  Mary leads this club and all levels are encouraged!


2nd Saturdays, 9 a.m. FREE

Lecture/Demo/Sharing.  Standing room only.  New project starts January 2013.  Appropriate for beginner & beyond.  All are welcome!   Kits are still available for this year's basket blocks sampler quilt, ABUNDANCE.  Presented by Charlotte.


QUILT SHOP HOP!  October 5th, 6th, & 7th!

OCTOBER will bring us the Central Kansas QUILT SHOP HOP!     

I am working on my EXCLUSIVE QUILT, using our EXCLUSIVE BATIK from Hoffman.  It is very "autumnal"!  We will start to share our unique quilt in September.

This year, for the first time ever, there will be a LUXURY BUS leaving from Salina on Saturday morning, and doing the entire SHOP HOP route in two days, including an over-night stay in a hotel.  Prince & Princess, your coach awaits!  :)  Let me know if you are interested!
