Hi all!

It's almost here!  You can order a CENTRAL KANSAS QUILT SHOP HOP PIN here:

QUILTS!  The Central Kansas Quilt Shop Hop Quilts are now posted on our group's web site:

Click on 2010 Quilts to see the quilts from all 10 stores.  They are each unique and fun!  We expect many hoppers won't be able to decide on just one, and will need to purchase multiple fabric packets.

Each store will be selling a different color fabric packet consisting of 4 different fabrics of one color and one full strip of the exclusive KANSAS FABRIC.

We still have EXCLUSIVE SUNFLOWER FABRIC available to pre-order.  Click here:

The FALL COLORS of assorted fabrics will be available in the 10 participating CENTRAL KANSAS QUILT SHOP HOP shops Oct. 1, 2 & 3.  You must VISIT the stores in person to collect these packets, which sell for $5.99.  ($6.49 includes sales tax.)

Each store has a different color pack.  (Sorry, on-line customers, we'll have to discuss other options.  Or, come to Kansas! :)  We're worth the trip!)

I've heard customers saying that they have no need for another large bed quilt, as well as customers saying they can't be bothered with small projects, and ONLY make bed quilts!  LOL

My finishing kit gives you OPTIONS.

Make a QUEEN SIZE quilt, or make several smaller projects, as I did.

My LARGE THROW (the sampler quilt pictured above) is finished 79 x 79 inches and looks great on top of a queen-size bed or folded on the back of a couch.

I also had left-over fabrics enough to make a
22 x 52 TABLE RUNNER and

The FINISHING KIT, which includes all the fabric needed for the KALEIDOSCOPE block CENTERS, the borders, inner borders, setting triangles, and binding enough for 1 queen-size quilt or several projects as shown here, is just $108.99.  The book, KALEIDOSCOPE SYMPHONY is $18.00.

Anka’s Treasures - Little Charmers IV Runner Pattern for Charm Squares Ruth finished a new table runner using the CHARM PACK from ARNOLD'S ATTIC collection and the pattern, LITTLE CHARMERS IV.  You can order it here:

Hoffman - African Beat - Tree Silhouettes & Giraffes on TanIf you want something more "exotic" than Kansas (LOL - Laughing Out Loud), then be sure to take a look at our NEWEST ADDITIONS and AFRICAN BEAT from Hoffman, in particular.

Here's my little TRAVEL SEWING PROJECT that I carry around with me.  I'm making the yo-yos for my BUTTONS BOWS & YO YOs quilt using the GERTA FABRIC collection from Riverwood.

I've got my YO-YO MAKER and DESK NEEDLE THREADER, two of my favorite CLOVER notions.

Scrap Bags - Buttons Bows & Yo Yo’s - Quilt Pattern

Doesn't that big print make neat yo-yos?!  I can't wait to get my quilt done!  See the GERTA FABRICS here:

It is very difficult to get to CHARLOTTE'S BARGAIN FABRIC & STITCHERY in the CHISHOLM TRAIL MALL at the moment because Newton is a city progressing!  i.e. they've torn up our ramps on and off I-135 to make them wider and able to accomodate the large trucks that will be moving to and from the new industrial park being built just east of the Mall.

If you are coming from the south, try to remember to get off at the exit just south of SE 36th St., which is K-196, which is exit #25 and is marked to Whitewater & El Dorado.  Then go west 1/2 a mile to Old Hwy 81 (also known as N. Broadway out of Wichita and S. Kansas out of Newton), turn right and go north 3 miles to SE 36th, turn right and you are there.

If you are coming from the north, at this time, you can still exit, but not get back on south-bound I-135.  When you leaving the Mall and want to go south, turn left, go west 1/4 mile to Old Hwy 81, then turn left, going south 3 miles to K-196, turn left and get back on I-135.

"They" have marked a "detour", but it takes you 3 miles north and does a u-turn at 1st Street to head you back southbound.  I am lobbying the Kansas Department of Transportation for better signs, but I'm not sure my voice is loud enough!

If you are in downtown Newton, it is easy to stay on Main Street (which changes names along the way) and go the 4 miles south to SE 36th Street, turn left and you'll see the Mall.  Or leaving the Mall, go west to the stop sign, turn right and go north to Charlotte's Sew Natural at 710 N. Main St. in downtown.

Please include CHARLOTTE'S BARGAIN STORE in your Shop Hop travel plans.  While it is not a "hop shop", we will be running extra specials to make it worth the stop!  Like $1 FAT QUARTERS, pre-cut $3.97 to $5.97 1 yard fabrics, originally priced up to $9.99/yd.  SPECIAL 5-yard BACKING BUNDLES, and more specials too.  We'll have just added hundreds of new AUNT MARTHA's TRANSFER PATTERNS to the inventory, so come check them out while the selection is GREAT!

Hope to see you soon or at next week's SHOP HOP!

This week, Ruth starts a year long program, EGG MONEY QUILTS by Eleanor Burns.  This class will meet 4th Thursdays at 10 a.m. & 7 p.m.  Call for details.  316-284-2547.

Thanks to all of you who endured with us on the 11th.  When we arrived at the store at 8 a.m. to prepare for our SECOND SATURDAY presentation, we had no electricity!  That meant no lights, no air conditioning and no cash register.  We moved to the back class room where the breeze and light was good from the two windows.  And we had everything up and running by noon.  Thanks especially to all of you who were there and came back!  The images of this month's CORN & BEANS blocks are now on the web here:

Have a great week!
